This song tells the story of one of my friends who used to have lots of one night stands. She is now with a long term partner but she always used to tell me these rollercoaster stories about meeting someone, flirting with them, taking them home, then waking up the next morning with the fear. I wanted to try to convey this varied tale with all its soaring highs and crushing lows in song.
lyrics
Mimosa Mondays
V1
She had one two mimosas she was rolling her coaster,
Round the edge of the shirt he wears.
She said “honey take me dancing,
Im looking for romancing, and I don’t give a damn who cares”
CHORUS
It was just in the way she walked,
(it was just in the way he walked)
It was just in the way she talked,
(It was just in the way he talked)
You wake up, you wake up screaming,
Again.
V2
The danger of the night, is forgotten out of sight
As he takes away all your pain.
Even if its for an hour, even though that love is sour,
You can pretend the world is right again.
CHORUS
It was just in the way she walked,
(it was just in the way he walked)
It was just in the way she talked,
(It was just in the way he talked)
You wake up, you wake up screaming,
Again.
GUITAR SOLO
V3
You Wake up you’re all alone
That love feeling is gone
That bed you’re in is cold and strange.
He says baby wont you stay? But you done even know his name,
And you leave quicker than he came.
CHORUS
It was just in the way she walked,
(it was just in the way he walked)
It was just in the way she talked,
(It was just in the way he talked)
You wake up, you wake up screaming,
Again.
